Before we begin let's recap what we learnt over the last few lessons:

Attention
Interest
Desire
Action

And so, when you are in dispute regardinga  text, you should rather be on the 'phrase by phrase' side of translating than the 'word by word' side of translating.

What are the 5 main steps you should follow when approaching your translation?

1. What are you trying to sell?
2. Who are you trying to sell to? (who is your target audience?)
3. What is the cultural context?
4. What is the message?
5. What are the words that I need to choose?

·      Tourism South Africa
o   What do you know about South Africa?
o   Where did you find out this information?
o   What are your feelings about travelling there?
o   Would you travel to South Africa?
o   What do you think is stopping/would stop you from visiting?
·      Watch the first video and answer the following questions:
o   What are your first feelings?
o   What are they selling?
o   Who is the target audience?
§  Why do you say that?
What is the cultural context?
What is the message

Watch the second video and answer the same questions

Now if you were responsible for toursim south africa, what would you do?
Create a message, a target audience, what you are selling etc.
Write an outline of a video you would create
Write 1 paragraph convincing people to visit South Africa
Do the same for France
